Welcoming progression

The University of Hertfordshire has been educating future generations since 1951. In 2012 it injected huge investment into major redevelopment of its College Lane campus, due for completion in 2020. As part of the development, a new internal brand was created – to unify all areas of the site and bring to life the university’s ambition and personality for the students, staff and visitors using the campus. The graphic style draws inspiration from the original buildings and Herts’ mid century origins – while looking firmly to the future. As a flexible kit of parts, the brand can be used to create a variety of spaces. From welcoming public areas to quiet places for study. A comprehensive set of guidelines including direction on finishes and furnishings support the ongoing project.
